Do you have climate-controlled storage?

Yes, we have climate-controlled storage for your most valuable and delicate possessions. We strongly recommend you put any of the following items in climate-controlled storage, or they will very likely be damaged as seasons change:

  • Household appliances & electronics
  • Leather or wood furniture
  • Musical instruments
  • Photos & artwork
  • Delicate collections (stamps, coins, comics, records, etc.)
  • Clothing
  • Wine & liquor (wine should be stored at 57°–61° F, and no more than 65° F).

In non-climate-controlled units, the seasonal changes in temperature and air moisture can cause damage like warping, cracking, rusting, molding, and degrading.

Can I control the temperature in my own unit?

Our team monitors the temperature of our climate control buildings daily, so you don’t have to.

Do you have RV, camper, or boat storage?

Yes, we have dedicated parking spaces for large RVs, campers, and boats. Some larger storage units can fit smaller to medium-sized boats and campers.

Can I access my unit 24/7?

Yes, you can access your storage unit any time, day or night. You will be issued a pin number that opens the front gate. Once in, you can access your unit with your keys.

If you need assistance—including renting a U-Haul, purchasing moving supplies, or using USPS services—office hours are 8:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday and 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday. The office is closed Sunday, but your storage unit is always available to you.

What kind of security do you have?

We offer state-of-the-art security cameras, a gate with a keypad, alarms on every unit (tied directly to your PIN), and on site-management.

Does anyone else besides me have access to my storage unit or possessions?

You may have authorized access users to your unit, if you so choose.

Do I need insurance for my storage unit?

You may elect to purchase SafeStor insurance from us or utilize your current homeowner’s policy or renter’s policy.

Do I need a special driver’s license to drive a U-Haul van or moving truck?

To drive a U-Haul truck, you only need a regular driver’s license that allows you to operate a passenger vehicle. There are no special classifications or classes needed to drive a U-Haul truck.

How old do I need to be to rent or operate U-Haul equipment?

If you’re reserving a U-Haul online, you must make a deposit payment with a debit card or credit card issued by Visa, Master Card, Discover, or American Express.

Do I have to leave a security deposit?

Whether you’re paying with credit card, debit card, or cash, you must leave a security deposit when you pick up the U-Haul. The deposit amount depends on the truck size, time needed, and estimated distance.

Can someone besides the cardholder pick up the U-Haul equipment?

It’s best that the cardholder picks up the U-Haul equipment. Whoever picks the equipment up must sign the paperwork and is responsible for the equipment. They must also have a valid driver’s license and provide a phone contact number.

What do I do if I have trouble with the U-Haul truck, moving van, or other equipment?

If you have any problems with your equipment, you can request U-Haul Roadside Assistance at myuhaul.com, or you can call 1-800-528-0355. Roadside Assistance service is available 24/7 all year long.

Where do I drop off my U-Haul equipment?

In-town rentals must be returned to the location they were rented from.

One-way rentals will include a return location on the contract. The contract will include the drop-off location business name, address, and phone number.
